Dr Amir Sheikh

A significant part of this work has involved advising health regulatory bodies internationally on the regulation and professionalisation of cupping therapy, contributing to the development of clearer standards of practice within the profession.

He has also designed and delivered workshops for health professionals, providing training in the safe and effective application of cupping therapy. He has also taught medical students at undergraduate level, introducing cupping therapy within a broader medical education context, and has undertaken a range of community outreach initiatives to improve public understanding of the therapy.

He is an award-winning international speaker in the field, though regards such recognition as part of a wider, collective effort within the profession.

His current interests lie in integrated cupping therapy and a wellness-focused, root cause, holistic approach to illness, examining how such approaches may be appropriately incorporated alongside conventional medical treatments. He continues to work towards promoting and advancing the practice of safe cupping therapy.
